Jürg Kurmann has more than 30 years of experience with a large number of M&A transactions, both on the buying and selling side, of which a significant number were cross-border. His specialty is the realization of transactions in complex situations such as operational problems or shareholder disputes. Jürg Kurmann's industry experience spans a broad spectrum with a focus on life sciences and IT.
Jürg Kurmann has also repeatedly advised on restructuring projects, often with executive responsibility as board member, managing director or liquidator.
Prior to his studies, Jürg Kurmann worked in operational management in international air freight logistics being stationed in Nigeria, UK and Luxembourg. After graduating, he worked for four years as a strategy consultant and three years as Head of Corporate Development at an internationally set up Swiss SME. From 1987 to 2015 he was a partner in the international M&A firm which he founded, Kurmann Partners AG, in Zurich and Basel.
Since 2015 Jürg Kurmann has been working as a coach for entrepreneurs of SMEs and start-ups. He also manages M&A projects, which are usually personal and require an individual approach. He is also an Associate Partner at Hoffmann & Partner in Basel, an M&A advisory firm specializing in the life science sector, and a founding partner in the SME valuation platform Nimbo.
Jürg Kurmann studied business administration and economics at the University of Basel and graduated with a Master's degree.
